With support from Oiltanking and a few individuals VBO Donated relief packages to the Builsa fraternity in Accra to minimize the adverse impact of the Covid-19 economic slowdown. A package for each person consisted of Rice, Oil, Gari and Sugar. The beneficiaries of this project are from all the builsa communities (Builsa North and South). Some of the Beneficiary groups include Balansa Youth Association, Abiliyeri Youth Association, Kori Youth, Chuchuliga Youth Association, Builsa South Youth Association (BSYA), Siniensi Youth Association to mention a few.
As part of this project, the vulnerable in Kumasi was not left out. Visionary Buluk Organization (VBO) delivered food and water to hundreds of people on daily basis for one week. The Kumasi project focused on the homeless, the disable and people living in less endowed communities. VBO also emarked on a massive commuity-based and social media Campaign against Covid-19. VBO in collaboration with National Youth Authority embarked on a 21-day Youth campaign against Covid-19. A video of the community-based campaign is posted at the end of this article.
This campaign was done in two (2) categories: the social media category and the Community-based category.
The social media category basically involves daily posts, tweets and retweets on safety measures and education on Covid-19 on our various social media platforms.
The Community-Based campaign focussed on the physically going to the communities with our loudspeakers to educate people on the pandemic. it also involves small community meetings with all social distancing protocols observed to educate people on how to stay safe at this time of the pandemic.
