Visionary Buluk, is a non-profit, Civil Society, and Community-based Youth Network aimed at making a positive impact in the areas of Climate change, Youth Empowerment, and Social Protection. We embarked on a week’s donation activity across the Builsa Traditional Area. The organization donated sports kits such as a set of jerseys, training cones, inflators, volleyballs, and footballs to selected schools and Communities in the Builsa North and South Districts.

Beneficiaries

A total of eight (8) basic schools (Kori Akag-yeri Primary school, Kori Akag-yeri Junior High school, Gbedema Primary School, Gbedema Junior High School, Siniensi central basic school, Siniensi Kaasa Basic school, Bilinsa Basic School, and Kanjarga Amaachaab KG) and three (3) communities( Chuchuliga, Fumbisi, and Wiaga) and sports zone across the Builsa Traditional area benefitted from the week-long donations. The beneficiaries were selected based on a needs assessment conducted by the Organization. Other beneficiaries formally wrote to Visionary Buluk Organization requesting such assistance.

The Headteachers and headmasters of the beneficiary Schools thanked Visionary Buluk for the donation and promised to put the items to good use. They also appealed to parents to monitor and identify hidden talents in their children and help them pursue their God-given talents rather than putting undue pressure on Children to pursue courses or programs that, the Children are not interested in.

The headteachers and headmasters also encouraged parents to continue investing in the Education of their wards as education transforms children’s lives by helping them overcome poverty leading to better health and increased income opportunities without it, he said ‘’Children remained trapped in a life of poverty and hardship’’.

Communities

Chuchuliga Community

The Chuchuliga Community wrote to Visionary Buluk in late 2021 requesting the Organization come to their aid in the form of helping them get sports kits such as a set of Jerseys and footballs for the senior team and Junior teams, A set of Jerseys and volleyballs for the boys and girls volleyball teams. This assistance is to enable them to improve sports and unearth talents in the Community. The request was made by Mr. Gideon on behalf of the chiefs and members of the Chuchuliga community.

Mr. Alaazy Ernest, the Executive Director of Visionary Buluk responded to their letter and committed that the organization will come to their aid in this regard as youth empowerment and social protection are core objectives of the organization. Hence the donation was made on 4^th April, 2022 at the Chief Palace. Items Donated include:

• Three (3) set of jerseys for the Senior and Junior football teams and the volleyball team.
• Two footballs for the Senior and Junior football Teams
• Two volleyballs for the male and female volleyball teams.
• Two sets of training cones for the teams and
• Two inflators.

Receiving the items on behalf of the community, the paramount Chief of Chuchuliga, nab Francis Asangalisa and his elders in council thanked Visionary Buluk for the support. The Chief advised the community team leaders to make good use of the items to develop sports in the community as a whole, unearth and develop talents that will help sell the name of the community globally. Nab Francis Asangalisa also stated clearly to the leaders that, these items are for the community and not any individual and cautioned them to use them for the purpose for which they were donated.

Fumbisi and Wiaga Communities

In November last year, the group donationed five (5) sets of jerseys with pants, inflator and  5 sets of balls and training cones to Wiaga United a football team based in Wiaga a suburb of Sandema in the Builsa North Municipality.

A similar donation was made to the Fumbisi Pro-League last year, when the organization donated 5 sets of footballs and inflator and training cones to the 2021 Fumbisi pro- League in Fumbisi in the Builsa South District of the Upper East Region. At the time, the Executive director of Visionary Buluk Organization, Mr. Alaazy Ernest promised a set of jerseys for the winning team. The organization fulfilled this promise by donating a set of jerseys with pants to the organizers of the league to be given to the winner on the final.
